Christmas Junk Decor 2012

Christmas Junk Decor 2012

Time to get back to blogging again. It's that joyous time of year and my favorite to decorate! This year I had to use items that I had in boxes that I had picked up during my thrifting excursions.  My daughter moved all of her belongings into my garage earlier this year and they were in the way of my Christmas decorations totes. So....with some crafting supplies, ideas, I put myself to work.

This is my favorite piece of furniture that my mother left to me. It is my favorite to decorate with all the shelves. I picked up this cupid clock at the Lucky Day Emporium Christmas craft show. Early Christmas present for myself.

Trees made with lace, vintage photos and rhinestone buttons. I used sugar jars to put these in.

Hard to see, but a spindle of vintage thread with the amber colored poinsettias placed inside. I also inserted a Christmas card into the frame I had purchased for .50 cents and glued on another amber poinsettia to it. Jar of amber, gold and orange ornaments.

My favorite picture of my two little furry children from last Christmas. A vintage music box with the kissing angels was a thrift store purchase too. I hot glued the elf onto my carriage and stuffed his arms with a miniature tree.

I tried my hand at the Dollar Store wine glass turned upside down. Inserted a Christmas pick with silver ornaments underneath and a birds nest on top. A little raffia used to tie a bow. I used some music notes paper and cover "Glade" candles, along with some lace ribbon and rhinestone buttons. My cream peacock was a late thrift shop find as well.

I found a use for my Martha Stewart glitter that I had to have. I sprayed a green cone with spray adhesive and sprinkled pink glitter over the entire tree. Inserted the star on top and lined it with pearl trim. This was also set on top of a china sugar bowl.

My coat rack from Pier 1 holds bits and bobbles, printed off Christmas cards, etc.

Star made from an old bendable ruler. "Merry"from old game pieces. Mason jar filled with Epsom salt as snow, popped in a little tree, added a stainless silver fork, bent to hold a printed card and finished off with a cute little red bow.

This is another early Christmas present I purchased from eBay. It can be used in so many different ways. As a card holder, A mini tree holder. Ornament holder. On and on.....

I found this dress form for .50 cents that someone had painted all sorts of colors. I covered it with book paper, mod podge, hot glued a piece of holly and gold trim around the waist. I glued it onto the top of a wooden candle stick. I like the way it came out. I also picked up that red metal piece at a thrift shop. Not sure what kind of tool item it is, but I found it and thought it looked like a Christmas tree stand. So I popped in a little tree. Next to it is another Mason jar with the Epsom salts, mini tree and an old wooden vintage doll. I have seen a lot of this made this year. So fun.

I bought this pair of angel wings from a yard sale this past Saturday for .50 cents. (That is my fav amount this year.) Painted a metal star white that I already had. I saw this picture frame NOEL on another blog, but can't remember the name. I used scrapbook paper and sticker letters. To top it all off, I used one of my apothecary jars and filled it with lots of yummy chocolates and I have already eaten half the jar! Ugh! I know what one of my resolutions will be. :0
